Fire Fighters Burn Fund

Red River Exhibition donates to the Fire Fighter's Burn FundThe Fire Fighters Burn Fund supports several programs in Manitoba. The Burn Fund's activities touch tens of thousands of children each year with various programs. The burn camp hosts about 40 children each year and helps them deal with the physical and emotional scars or burn injuries. Other burn fund initiatives include prevention programs, fire safety houses and a new interactive CD game which is being launched world-wide to teach children how to escape in the event of a fire. There are about 200 fire departments in Manitoba and about 2500 fire fighters, all of whom participate in the Fire Fighters Burn Fund. In November 2005 the Fire Fighters Burn Fund dedicated a new Fire Safety Centre. Donations from Canad Inns Winter Wonderland helped in the purchase of the new facility.

For the past 15 years, Torch Run volunteers have participated in fund raising programs in Manitoba. One hundred percent of all money raised through corporate donations go to Special Olympics Manitoba. Internationally, the Torch Run encompasses 21 countries and over 50,000 law enforcement officers. The Red River Exhibition Foundation

Red River Exhibition FoundationThe Red River Exhibition Foundation was established in 1997 with a $100,000 contribution from the Red River Exhibition Association. This amount continues to grow with support from the industries involved.

The Foundation’s mandate is to provide scholarships to deserving Manitobans in keeping with the Association’s mandate “to promote industry, commerce, tourism, and agriculture.” The Foundations now offers fifteen scholarships annually for students to further their studies in the Aerospace, Tourism, Agriculture, Business and Automotive Industry Sectors.

The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees, with support from the CEO and staff. The Red River Exhibition Foundation is totally administered and managed by volunteers. Administration costs are paid by the Red River Exhibition Association and volunteer fundraisers. Through this volunteer commitment, the Foundation can guarantee that 100% of industry donations go directly to fund the scholarships.

In addition, once an industry sector is established, the Founding Donor would have the opportunity to nominate members to the scholarship selection committee for that industry sector.

The Foundation Board is responsible for developing and printing the scholarship brochures that are distributed to Manitoba schools.
